Death and Legacy

On 3 Jul 2019, Elizabeth A. Rauscher died at age 82. [3] Elizabeth's biography was published on a tribute webpage in her honor:

Dr. Elizabeth Ann (E.A.) Rauscher of Apache Junction, Arizona passed away on July 3, 2019 from respiratory/heart complications at age 82. She was preceded in death by her father, Philip J. Webster of Minnesota (1900-1992), and mother, Claire Elsa (née Söderblom) Webster of California (1901-1991). She will be cremated for a scattering ceremony to be scheduled later in the year, while an online Memorial Service is planned for July 28th (with details pending). She was born in Berkeley, California on March 18, 1937 and is predeceased by her second husband, William van Bise, of Lafayette, Louisiana. She is survived by her son, Brent Rauscher and his wife, Cheryl, her grand-daughter, Brittany Williams, her great-grandchildren (Hallie, Sophie and Luke), her sister, Hope Sinclair, and her nieces & nephew (Darlene, Linda, Jessica and Steven). Dr. Elizabeth A. Rauscher was an Astrophysicist, Nuclear Scientist and worked on the NASA space shuttle. She is a former researcher with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and the Stanford Research Institute (SRI). Rauscher held a PhD in Astrophysics, Nuclear Physics and Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley (UCB). She was one of the most groundbreaking thinkers in Quantum Physics and a pioneer in spin dynamics, torque and Coriolis forces relative to Einstein’s field equations and the Grand Unification Theory. As a child, she built her own telescopes and cloud chamber. That pursuit of science led to her achieving a Masters in Nuclear Physics in 1965 and her PhD under the renowned nuclear chemist, Glenn T. Seaborg, in 1978. This was a remarkable accomplishment, being the only woman in her class - at that time women accounted for fewer than 5% of academic positions in US Universities. She was active as a Physics Professor, research consultant, and graduate student adviser. In 1975 Rauscher co-founded the Berkeley Fundamental Fysiks Group, an informal group of physicists who met weekly to discuss "quantum mysticism" and the philosophy of quantum physics and nurtured ideas which were unpopular at the time within the physics community, but which later, in part, formed the basis of quantum information science. She was a member of APS, IEEE, AAAS, MAA, ANA, AAMI and a UN delegate/adviser (1979, 1989, 2002). She authored over 280 scientific papers and 6 books, and has 5 U.S. patents and one European patent. She founded several labs for scientific inquiry and has received numerous awards and grants and is listed in eleven Who’s Who, including Marquis’ Who’s Who, and Men and Women in Science and Technology. Rauscher also had a deep interest in psychic phenomena and other paranormal claims which she studied over decades following rigid scientific investigative standards. She loved nature, family and discovery - being an active supporter of many groups preserving our environment and who sought greater understanding of our natural world and the underlying physical principals of reality. Everyone she met was a friend, whether bell-hop or Prince - she cared for them all and each knew her loving heart. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Rauscher https://www.irva.org/conferences/speakers/rauscher.html https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Elizabeth_Rauscher [4]
