Catherine Dalgleish is said to have been born around 1540 in Dunnygask (aka Tunnygask or Tinnygask), on the isle of Fife, in Scotland. Her father is said to have been Robert (James) Dalgleish of Dunnygask, b: ca. 1520 in Dunnygask, Fife, Scotland. Her mother's name is unknown.[1][2]
Catherine Dalgleish of Dunnygask, Fife, Scotland, married Cuthbert Wardlaw of Balmule[1]
around 1559, before their 1st son, Nicolas Wardlaw, was born in 1560. She was about 19 years old. Her husband, Cuthbert Waldlaw, a younger son of John Wardlaw, Laird of Torrie (1512-1557) and Elizabeth Beaton of Balfour, was born between 1532 and 1539, making him 20 to 27 in 1559.[3] Cuthbert Wardlaw was called as a witness in the disputes over a lease by the Dalgleish family of Dunnygask on July 5, 1589, when he gave his age at that time as “fifty or thereby," indicating he was born around 1539 or slightly before.[4]
The couple had six known children, five sons and a daughter, although sources reviewed list 11 children (six sons and five daughters):
Catherine's husband, Cuthbert Wardlaw of Balmule Mill, Fifeshire, Scotland, is assumed to have passed away around 1596 as no further mention of him was made in local records after the mid-1590s. His burial site is presumed to be in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. [17]
Cuthbert Wardlaw de Balmule on Fife seems to have been held in high esteem by the inhabitants of the West Neck of Fife. He was blessed with a wife [Katherine Dalgleish] whose biography … inscribed in the Death Register of Dunfermline two days after her death … is Biblical in its brevity but long in its significance: [18]
"18th February 1621, Katherine Dalgleish, wyff to unqle Cuthbert Wardlaw in Balmule, dept yis lyff being ane honest woman and of greit aige."
Catherine [Dalgleish] Wardlaw, widow, died on 18th February 1621 in Balmule, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. If born around 1540, she would have been 81 years old, truly a "greit aige" for that time and place.

Dagleich-1 and Dalgleish-334 appear to represent the same person because: they are the same person; I have done significant research on this person and request the merge be into Dalgleish-334 as that is the accepted 16-17th Century spelling. Note that "Dagleich" omits the 1st letter "L" etc. Her husband must also be merged but no spelling problems there.
