Biography

Elizabeth Rugg was born about 1691, based on the age of her gravestone.

She married Benjamin Clark in about 1716, in Concord, Massachusetts.

Their children were:

  1. Benjamin Clark (1717-1809) [1]
  2. John Clark (1718-1803)[2]
  3. Joseph Clark (1721-)[3]
  4. David Clark (1723-)[4]

Her husband Benjamin died in 1723, in Lancaster, Massachusetts.

In 1733, Elizabeth, wife of Joseph Daby of Stow, late wife of Benjamin Clark of Lancaster, paid bond for her sons Benjamin and John's guardianship.[5]

She married her second Joseph Daby of Stow on 26 November 1728 in Stow.[6]

Together Elizabeth and Joseph had one daughter:

  1. Abigail Daby, b. 21 December 1732 in Stow.[7] Her father was 78 years old when she was born.

In 1744, Elizabeth was mentioned in her mother's estate distribution.[8]

In 1746, her daughter Abigail, in her 15th year, chose her brother, Joseph Clark to be her guardian.[9]

She died in 1784, in Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts.

Rugg-806 and Rugg-498 appear to represent the same person because: Merging the two Elizabeth Ruggs. Rejected Elizabeth Flagg as she may be another person. Please merge.

Her LNAB should be Rugg. She first married Benjamin Clark and married her second husband Joseph Daby in 1728. She is mentioned in her mother's estate distribution in 1744.
