Biography
David was born in 1813. He was the son of Martin Pierson and Abigail Randal.
David married Caroline N. Elliot.
Their children were:
1. George M.
2. William N. b. Dec 1843, m. Lucinda M. Hinchman, (Findagrave #13569130). Civil War veteran.
3. Albert, b. 1847 at NY, m. Sarah H. Ford in 1869. Son named Merritt, (Findagrave #100458653)
6. Laura E, b. 1850, m. Morris Parker, b. 1841 at Maple Valley, Michigan. (Findagrave #3741528)
7. Walter, b. 1859
In the state of Michigan in 1856, David S. Pierson acquired forty acres of land which eventually became the town of Pierson. With Dexter Clark and John L. Shar, David Pierson founded the community while it was still part of Mecosta County. Pierson opened the first post office in his home on January 29, 1857.
David and his wife Caroline eventually moved to Santa Barbara, California and resided at 3 Oceanview Avenue. He passed away in 1898.
