Thomas Lambert[1] was born in 1611. He gives his age as 30 years or thereabouts in a court deposition on April 30, 1641.[2]
He arrived in Virginia about 1632, as he patented 100 acres in June, 1635. The land he patented still bears the name Lambert's Point. Lambert was an ensign in the Lower Norfolk County Militia by 1640 and was later a major in the same outfit. He was later a Burgess in the Assembly at Jamestown for Lower Norfolk County in 1647-48, 1649, 1652, 1656, and 1658,[3] and by the time of his death in 1671 he was the proud bearer of the title Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Lambert.[4]
Thomas was the supervisor of brother-in law John Sibsey's will proven 16 August 1652.[5]
He was Major Thomas Lambert when named overseer of the 15 February 1654 will of William Vincent.[6]
One Thomas Lambert's will was proven on April 17, 1677 in Lynnhaven Parish, but it is unclear if this is the same person.[7]
