Theophilus Batchelder, Jr. was born in 1742 in Kingston, New Hampshire. He was the son and 1st born child of Theophilus Sr. and Maria (Blake) Batchelder.

Theophilus married Ann Sleeper in Kensington, New Hampshire on May 9, 1763. They were married by a Clergyman named Jeremiah Fogg.

Theophilus and Ann resided 1st in Troy, then thereafter removed to Georgetown/Phippsburg, Lincoln (now Sagadahoc), Province (now State) of Maine. His brother Timothy Batchelder followed him to Georgetown/Phippsburg, and married Mary C. Hinckley there.

Theophilus and Ann had at least four children including: Jordan P. (who m. 1st Mehitable Batchelder, and his 1st cousin and daughter of his uncle Timothy, and m. 2nd Susan Brackett); Lydia (who married Unknown Carlton); Josiah (b. on November 4, 1766, who m. Hannah Mereen); and Theophilus III (b. abt. 1766, d. October 3, 1845).
