Willard was born Dec. 6 1884 in Allston, Boston MA. He was in the Harvard Class of 1910, although he left college in the winter of 1908 to work with the firm of Woodbury and Leighton Company who's name changed to I. F. Woodbury and Sons Company. His brother Robert also worked there. Willard was the treasurer of "I.F. Woodbury and Sons", a building and construction trade with Isaac Franklin Woodbury (his father). Later he is listed as a contractor. He designed a summer house in Jamaica Plains at 22 Woodbourne Rd. The 1950 census shows they were living there.
Willard married Maud Emily McClary in NY in August of 1910. He was several years younger than his wife. He was 25 and she was 33. They had two children, Jean McClary in 1911 and Willard Dana Jr in 1913. 1930 Census records show they lived at 90 Gardener St, which is a large home his father built in Allston MA. They later retired and moved to Jamaica Plains MA.
Family recollections of him are that he was a very kind and lovely man, who in his later years spent time in the garden.
He passed away in 1961 at Jamaica Plains MA. He was 76 years old.
