brick wall for 4years! only 1 document has been found on Ancestry for this person. need help! Who are her parents? Is Preston her maiden name?

Cornelia was born in 1837. She passed away after 1865. [1]

Her son W. H. McDonald's death certificate gives her birthplace as Tennessee.[2]

Research Notes

It is possible that her maiden name is PRESSON vs Preston, as we have dna matches to both surnames.

Only 1 document lists her....her son's Death Record. Son is William Hubbard McDonald, born TN, 1865, dying in Paris, Henry, Tn in 1941 in which it lists his parents as Cornelia Preston and W.H (William H. McDonald). This is the only document with any info.

Did Cornelia die in 1865 after the birth of son? Civil War tragedy??

Preston-7999 and Preston-6581 are not ready to be merged because: I need to clean mine up. I am also unclear if allowing another to merger my two duplicates allows me to retain Cornelia as my Project vs her being profile manager?

Donna, you are the profile manager for both of those profiles, and after the merge you will still be the profile manager for the final profile and able to "clean it up". There is no reason to wait to complete the merge. I've proposed it again.

The 1870 census Cornelia and Willilam posted above DOES NOT WORK OUT TO PRODUCE MY TREE'S WILLIAM HUBBARD McDONALD who married Francis Elizabeth Vickers and had many children. IT IS NOT THE SAME FAMILY!!
