Ensign Nathan Brackett II served in the United States in the War of 1812 Service started: May 29, 1811 Unit(s): Lt. Colonel Herbert Moore's regiment at Wiscasset Service ended: Sep 27, 1814
Nathan was a farmer but he also served in War of 1812. He enlisted May 29, 1811, in the 3rd regiment, 2nd brigade, 8th division, militia of Massachusetts. He served in Captain John Moore's company; Lt. Colonel Herbert Moore's regiment at Wiscasset. He was appointed ensign May 21, 1811 and was pensioned because of an injury to his hip received in September, 1814 He was discharged on 27 Sep 1814.[4] Starting 6 September 1828, Nathan collected a pension for his War of 1812 service.[5]
In 1850, the family was living in Clinton, Maine.[6]

Nathan died at age 72 on 20 December 1857, and is buried in the Town House Hill Cemetery in Clinton, Kennebec County, Maine.[7]
