Biography

Isaac Frank Webster, the son of Aaron Webster and Nancy Thompson, was born 27 May 1849 [1] and died 16 April 1931. [2] He is buried in Mills Cemetery in Mills, Potter Co., PA. Flat stone inscription in Webster plot: Isaac F. 1849-1941.[3]

Isaac Frank Webster married three times: (1) Anna Lee Smith (1851-1888) m. 4 July 1872; (2) Cora Harrison (1861-1918) m. 15 February 1894; (3) Cora's sister & widow of Andrew Gee, Etta (Harrison) Gee (1863-1930) m. 24 November 1921.

Anna Lee Smith, Isaac's first wife, was the mother of his two children: Jesse Smith Webster (1874-1954) and Clarence Leroy Webster (1882-1969).

The Potter Enterprise, Couldersport, PA, Thursday Feb 27, 1919. Headline: AGED WOMAN DIES. Mrs. Nancy Webster of Mills Would Have Attained Her 95th Year Had She Lived Until May 12th. >> Mrs. Nancy Webster, probably the oldest woman in Potter county died Monday morning at the home of her son Almon Webster in Mills. She was the widow of the late Aaron Webster who died about seven years ago and before her marriage was Miss Nancy Thompson. Some time ago Mrs. Webster fell, dislocating her hip and she never fully recovered from the accident. She is survived by three sons, Isaac of Ripley NY, Chauncey of Harrison Valley, Almon, at whose home she died and by one daughter Kaziah, wife of Roland Day of Rexville. Funeral services were held at the home and was attended by a large concourse of friends who had long known and loved this aged woman who had spent most of her life in their midst. Her children were all present. Mrs. Almon Webster is a sister of Mrs. H.S. Bartoo and the latter was present at the funeral services. Burial was made in Mills cemetery.

Isaac Webster's Y-DNA haplogroup is Y-DNA Haplogroup J-M267, based on the testing of his great-grandson JPW. DNA connections between his great-grand-daughter JWB and DNA-connections to both through Isaac's father Aaron, show that Isaac is the father of Clarence Webster and would share the same haplogroup. This haplogroup is the predominant one by Webster surname studies who descend from Gov. John Webster of CT (at FamilyTreeDNA). https://www.familytreedna.com/public/webster?iframe=yresults). Primary evidence shows that Isaac F. Webster's line descends from Gov. John Webster of CT.
