In 1870, Edw. Israel lived in St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri, with his parents. A.B. and Rosette Israel and two sisters. Father A.B. was a publisher and author.[4]

"A former resident of Baton Rouge, Edward E. Israel, 84, died in his sleep at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Melvin Johnson, in Shreveport last Friday.
"The Israel family had resided in Baton Rouge 15 years before moving to Shreveport 18 years ago. He was as native of Kentucky and was active in Presbyterian church circles."[6]
His FindAGrave memorial shows that he was buried at the Forest Park East Cemetery, Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana, but there is no picture of a gravestone and no source for the information.[7]
