Biography

Sarah Florence McIntyre was born 1 Jan 1870 according to her headstone at Refuge Cemetery[1] and about 1869 according to the 1870 U.S. Federal census when her age is recorded as 1 year. Her mother is Sarah Horn McIntyre, widow of Lawson McIntyre.[2]

W. E. King married S. F. McIntire Apr 6, 1884, in McNairy County, Tennessee. [3]They were the parents of the following children:

1. Joshua Lincoln King, born 21 Apr 1887, died 16 Oct 1964.[4]

2. Sarah Florence King, born 3 Jan 1891 McNairy County, Tennessee. Died. 7 Oct 1972.[5]

3. Dovie Bell King, born 9 Dec 1893 Tennessee. Diel 31 Mar 1963.[6]

4. Mary Ethel King, born 11 Aug 1897. Died 30 Nov 1973.[7]

5. James Huey King, born 26 Jun 1899. Died 31 Dec 1979.[8]

6. William Dewey King, born 26 Jun 1899. Died Dec 1986.[9]

7. Hattie B. King, born 30 Jan 1905, McNairy County, Tennessee. Died 17 Apr 1958. [10]

Sarah King died the 27th of Jun 1927 according to her headstone at Refuge Cemetery in McNairy County. A Tennessee Death Certificate has not been located for her at this time. [11]

Her father may have been a LACEFIELD as her daughter, Dovie Bell King Browder's obituary in The Jackson Sun (Jackson, Tennessee) stated her parents were the late William King and Sara Lacefield.[12]. Dovie Browder's Tennessee Death Certificate states her mother was Sarah F. Lacefield and the informant was her sister, Sarah King McIntyre of Selmer, Tenn.[13]

This certainly lends credibility that her father was a LACEFIELD.

Hattie B. King Gray's Tennessee Death Certificate records her parents as William King and Florence McIntyre with the informant as Sam E. Gray of Bemis. [14]
