Biography
Larry attended Chattanooga High School ("City High") where he was a center on the football team, and then was a business administration major at University of Tennessee, where he received his lieutenant's commission in the U.S. Army from Col William Marshall Slayden, no relation to his uncle Marion C. Slayton.
After serving in Vietnam in special operations (pacification and airborne training techniques in communist infiltrated villages near Saigon as part of a 10-man paratroop commando), Colonel Henderson was the Commanding Officer of the 218th MI Detachment (Airborne) 1974-1975 at Fort Bragg, NC.
