Birth year is unknown, Danish Wikipedia refers to him as being an adult in 1421.
Åke was the son of the Danish knight and member of the Privy Council Axel Pedersen and his first wife Katarina Axelsdotter Krognos who were married in 1409. Axel had Elleholm castle in Blekinge, was the sheriff of Helsingborg in 1414, sheriff of Varberg in 1415 and held several other areas in southern Sweden which then belonged to Denmark. His main residence was however, Härlöv in the parish of Norra Åsum.[1]
Åke himself was also a knight and a member of the Privy Council.[1]
Danish Wikipedia lists four children, Swedish Wikipedia lists eight children. The 10 children below are listed in Danmarks Adels Aarbok 1900
Åke was alive June 7, 1477, but dead by August 7 when his wife is mentioned as a widow.[1]
He was buried in the Church of Gamleby.[1] together with his wife Merete Bengtsdotter (svenska Winstorp-släkten).
