Biography

Isaac was born in 1768. He passed away in 1849.

Based on strong circumstantial evidence it would suggest beyond a doubt that Isaac Sr was a son of Richard. The following information was provided by Lou Murphy a noted Muse Genealogist: "Sarah Muse, probable daughter of Richard and Margaret named one of her sons Richard Muse Davidson and another piece of evidence is a letter from Isaac Sr's proven son Orville to his cousin, Rebecca (Davidson) Morrison dated 1852. Rebecca was daughter of Andrew Davidson and Sarah (Muse) Davidson" In order to be cousins you have to be related and this letter showed Isaac to be a brother of Sarah Muse. Other evidence is that Andrew Davidson and Sarah moved to Bedford Co. TN. from Kentucky and Andrew is on record of selling land to Isaac and Isaac's probable brother Richard." Further evidence is that Isaac first shows up in 1810 census of Pulaski with 2 males 0-9, 2 females 0-9 and one female 16-25 along with probable father Richard, probable brother Thomas and Andrew Davidson. Other evidence researched by Lou Murphy states that he first showed up on a tax list for Pulaski County in 1806 with brother-in-law Andrew Davidson who married Sarah Muse in Wythe Co. Va. They further show up with 200 acres each on Fishing Creek in Pulaski County. Our Research revealed and confirmed research done by Lou Murphy that probable father Richard also had property on Fishing Creek and Isaac owned land on Fishing Creek. Further information that has been published on Issac Sr states that he sold his property in 1813. (which we have reconfirmed in Pulaski Co. Ky.), and moved to Bedford Co. Tennessee by 1820 where he shows up on the 1812 Bedford Co. Tennessee tax list. However during our research of Pulaski Co. Ky. we found further evidence that Isaac Muse was physically in Pulaski Co. Ky up to 1824. In survey Book 1 (no index) we found where Isaac Muse was the sworn chain men on two different surveys. This evidence is located on Page 399, dated June 24, 1822, survey for William Clanch and page 399/40 0 a survey for William Woodson, dated February 13, 1824. It appears, based on records that Isaac moved from Kentucky to Tennessee and back several times before settling down in Bedford. Our research also revealed that almost every proven line from Richard and Margaret had a son named Isaac this is not to excluded my Great Great Grandfather who was named Isaac. Further information on Isaac Muse and his descendents see "Southern Legacy Book II" page 38 (Source # 4). The children of Isaac require further research to prove parentage with the exception of Orville.

It appears the DOB in the memorial is incorrect - the same DOB had been assigned to Thomas Muse
