Rosetta LeNoire was an American stage, movie, and television actor, and a Broadway producer and casting agent. She is best known for her role as Estelle "Mother Winslow" on the tv series Family Matters.^[1]

Rosetta Olive Burton was born in New York City in 1911.^[2] She was the daughter of Harold Burton and Marie Jacques who were both born in Dominica, an island nation in the Caribbean.^[3][4] Her mother died when she was young, soon after giving birth to Rosetta's brother. Rosetta's godfather was Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, a tap dancer who was in the Elks Club with her father.^[5] In 1919, her father married Edith Helwig, who became Rosetta's step-mother.^[6]

In 1930, Rosetta married William LeNoir.^[7][8] They seem to have separated by 1940^[9] and later divorced.^[5] They had a son.^[10]

Rosetta married Egbert Fitzgerald Brown on 10 Apr 1948 in New York City.^[10][11] Egbert died in 1973.^[12]

Rosetta passed away in March 2002 in Teaneck, New Jersey. ^[13][5] She is buried in Cypress Hills Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.^[12]
