Biography

Nancy was born in 1867. She was the daughter of Henry Lawson and Nancy Parmley. She passed away in 1940.

Living in the home were Elizabeth Smith (age 55 and b. in TN), Henry Lawson (age 30 and b. in TN), Nancy E. Lawson (age 24 and b. in KY), Henry S. Lawson (age 5 and b. in KY), Nancy E. Lawson (age 2 and b. in KY), and Thomas Sanders ( 17 and b. in KY)

Elgick was a farmer. He and Lizzie had been married 19 years, had 12 children of whom eight were alive in 1910.

He was living with his wife Lizzie (age 53 and b. in KY), Son Hurley (age 19 and b. in TX), daughter Lila (age 18 and b. in OK), daughter Evalyn (age 15 and b. in OK), son Harvey (age 12 and b. in OK), and daughter Ollie (age 11and b. in OK). Elzie was a farmer.

Elziak Lawson (age 63 and b. in MO) was head of a household in the 1930 census for Cheyenne, Roger Mills Co., OK. He was living with his wife Nancy E. Lawson (age 63 and b. in KY). He was a farmer.


Nancy Elizabeth Lawson was married to Elzick Lawson. She was the daughter of Henry Lawson and Nancy Parmley Lawson. Nancy and Elzick were 1st Cousins. They had at least 6 children.

OBIT: Nancy Elizabeth Lawson was born July 30, 1867 at Decida, Kansas and departed this life January 13, 1940 at her home at El Reno, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years, six months and 14 days. She was married to Elzick Lawson February 8, 1891. To this union were born ten children, four infants preceded her in death, six living: Ruthie Turner, and Ollie Shelby of El Reno, Oklahoma; Lila Mullin, Littlefield, Texas, Evaline Amend, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Harvie Lawson of Delano, California. She has 15 grandchildren. She united with the Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 14 and was a faithful member until the end came. She had been in bad health for a number of years. Her husband preceded her in death October 25, 1934. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at the Reydon Baptist Church at 1 p.m. January 15, 1940, with Brother Woodward in charge. She leaves to mourn her passing six children, all being present but one boy, Harvie Lawson; 15 grandchildren, three sisters and one brother and a number of relatives and friends. The remains were laid to rest by that of her husband in the White Rose cemetey at Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK 25-Jan-1940
