Biography

Jesse was born in 1805. He is the son of Joseph McClain and Tabitha York.

He married Delilah Hildebrand, a Cherokee, and they had several children. Delilah and the children are listed in the 1851 Drennan Rolls (Illinois District)[1], and they are again listed in the 1906 Eastern Cherokee Applications of the U.S. Court of Claims file of Jesse and Delilah's son Joseph as follows:[2]
