Biography

Richard was born in 1921. His mother taught him to play piano and encouraged his love of books. His parents were active in the Grange, and he performed in numerous plays.

During WWII, he served as a company clerk in the 13th Army Air Corps in the Pacific theater. Because he played piano, he often entertained at the officers club.

He managed Palmer's Stationery store for John Palmer in Belfast, and later purchased the business. Many high school students, including all five of his children, had their first job at "Palmer Prep."

He was a member of the Masons and Past Master of the Timothy Chase Lodge. He was the secretary of the lodge for many years. He had a dry wit and was often the emcee at many lodge functions.

He enjoyed gardening, something he had done with his mother, Louise. He shared that passion with his children. He passed away in 1983.

He is a descendant of Mayflower Passenger Richard Warren
