Elizabeth Tyner was born about 1835 in the Cherokee Nation. Her parents are unknown. She is listed by herself (as "Elizabeth Tiner") on the 1851 Old Settler roll living in Going Snake District. [1] According to Emmet Starr she married Cornelius Alberty; they had no children. [2] Her death date is unknown, but by 1865 Cornelius had married a second time. [3] The 1896 Old Settler Payroll lists as her heirs the children of Cornelius' second wife, Ruth Thornton. [4]

Elizabeth Tiner/Tyner #1, listed alone on Old Settler Roll, Going Snake District #18. This is the woman married to Cornelius Alberty. The 1896 payroll says she had no descendants, her heirs were the children of Cornelius' wife Ruth Thornton Starr. 1896 Old Settler Payroll, p. 200. Starr lists Elizabeth Tyner and Ruth Thornton as the wives of Cornelius. Ruth married Cornelius about 1865. They had no children.
Elizabeth Tiner/Tyner #2, is listed with her brother Reuben on the Drennan roll. According to Starr she married Edward Melton and they had no children. Reuben's children listed her as dead on their Eastern Cherokee apps, but didn't know when she died.
I removed Jackson and Edward from this Elizabeth, will have to add the Elizabeth #2 to Jackson and Edward. There are so many with the same name, and all living in the same area, it's crazy. I will look for more sources on them, and go though my papers for anything. I have to have something in those boxes, because of my sources being lost when my computer crashed around 1980 something. Thanks
Neither one of these two Elizabeth Tyners had children. Nothing is known about parents or siblings for the one who married Cornelius; Elizabeth who married Melton had several siblings with children but she didn't have any herself.
Good to know on that. On a Google search, someone post parents for Elizabeth #1, along with 3 children, probably from Cornelius' first wife? I am going to look into it further after while, right now I am looking through Emmet and Bells' books I made copies of years ago.
Then I think they are wrong then, they had Alberty as their last names on the kids, like I said I hadnt looked into it, stillnlooking through boxes at the moment. LOL
This Elizabeth was NOT the wife of Cornelius Alberty. He was married to a different Elizabeth Tyner who was also an Old Settler (Old Settler Roll, Going Snake 18)
