Friedrich Braunschweig - Wolfenbuttel is Notable.

Friedrich Wilhelm Braunschweig - Wolfenbuttel was born on October 9, 1771 in Braunschweig, Alemania, son of Karl Welf (1735–1806) and Augusta Frederica Hannover (1737–1813).

His siblings were:

  1. Auguste Karoline Friederike Luise Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel (1764–1788)
  2. Karl Georg August Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel (1766–1806)
  3. Caroline Amelia Elizabeth Guelph (1768–1821)

Friedrich married Marie Rosine Krippahn (born on September 6, 1764 in Halle an der Saale, Halle, Sachsen-Anhalt, Alemania). Their known daughter was Johanna Rosine Kohlbach (1791–1861).

Friedrich died on June 16, 1815 in Quatre-Bras, Namur, Bélgica, aged 43.

Died in combat during the Napoleonic Wars at the battle of Quatre-Bras. Also known as The Black Duke he was a great grandson of King George II of England, his mother being Princess Augusta of Great Britain. Duke Friedrich maintained a 9 year "liaison" with Marie Rosine Kohlbach, née Krippahn, during which relation they had 3 illegitimate children: the eldest 1 daughter (Johanna Rosine von Pieschel, née Kohlbach, born in 1791), and 2 sons all of whom carried the Kohlbach surname, their mother's dead husband's surname. Marie Rosine's marriage to Karl / Joseph Kohlbach had only lasted a few months due to Joseph's death in 1790. Soon after she started her "liaison" with Duke Friedrich Wilhelm. The Kohlbach descendancy nevertheless was ennobled through the von Pieschels and the von Kellers. Duke Friedrich married, in 1802, Princess Marie of Baden.
