Biography

I was born in 1919 in Cuba Landing Tennessee. My childhood is very complicated. My mother is Virginia Myrtle ( Jenny ) Parnell Cagle. I was a second child. My mother was 18 years old and unmarried. My mother first child was Mary born around 1916. I suppose due to my mothers age, and her father James Arch Parnell had passed away in 1916, they used my Grandmother's maiden name which is Catherine ( Cat ) Buchanan. Mary Buckhannon ( as shown in 1920 Humphreys County Census as adopted daughter of Clyde and Mary Smith. Mary passed away of TB when she was around 1927-28. In January 1926 my mother married David "Doc" Cagle. February 5 1927 they had a child, Willie Ray Cagle, my half brother. Willie Ray Cagle passed away of TB May 12, 1827. My mother had actually passed February 9, 1927 of TB as well. David Cagle placed me up for adoption and I was adopted by James Hart and Istalena Johnson. I lived with them until 1943 when I Married my first husband Raymond Leslie Lewis.

We had four children, Marjorie Istalena Lewis b 9/11/1944 d. 7/15/1997; Jimmie Ray Lewis b. 9/11/1946, living, Dennis Eugene Lewis, b. 5/18/1950, living; Paul Edward Lewis b. 1956. Jimmie was born in Nashville Tennessee while Marjorie, Denny and Paul were born in Columbus Indiana.

Our family spent the 50's 60's and early 70's in Columbus, Shelbyville, Fairland and Indianapolis Indiana.

Jimmie Moved to Florida first. Shortly after Raymond and I moved to Marion County Florida. Raymond passed August 3, 1979. A few years later I married Joseph Heitman. He also Passed.

I am now widowed twice. Living in N. Richland Hills, TX. My son Jimmie has been helpful with me in discovering some of my unknown past.
