Stevenson, Joseph. The Church Historians of England (George Seeley, England, 1853) "The Historical Works of the Venerable Beda", Vol. 1, pt. 2, Page 635: "Constantius married Theodora, the stepdaughter of Herculius, by whom he had six sons"
↑ 1.01.1 historians Otto Seeck and Ernest Stein claim her parents are Eutropia, and Afranius Hannibalianus. They are disputed by Timothy Barnes, who states that all "stepdaughter sources" derive from the partially unreliable work "Kaisergeschichte", while more reliable sources" call her Maximian's natural daughter. Barnes, concludes that she was born no later than c. 275 to an unnamed earlier wife of Maximian, possibly one of Hannibalianus' daughters."
