Biography

Mary (Miller) Wolfe is a part of US Black heritage.

Mary was born about 1827 in Delaware. She was the daughter of James and Nancy Miller, who were also born in Delaware. She married Paris Wolfe circa 1850. They lived in Sussex County, Delaware where he farmed and worked as a day laborer. They had at least five children before she was widowed sometime between 1870 and 1880. In 1880 she was listed as widowed and supporting 4 of her children and a grandchild as a washwoman in Sussex County. In 1900 she was living with one of her daughters in Sussex County. She passed away in 1914 in Lewes and Rehoboth, Sussex County and was buried in Harrison Smith Cemetery.
