Job was born in around 1718, the son of Ichabod and Patience (Donnell) Jellison, in York in the old Massachusetts Bay Colony before Maine was formed. This is where he was raised and would live out his life.
On December 5, 1747, Job married Susanna Kinket Kincaid, the daughter of John Kinket Kincaid and Martha (Churchill) Kincaid, in York, Maine. Job was around 29 years of age at the time while Susanna was 20.
The couple would settle in York and have the following children:
Samuel Jellison (1748–1840)
Nathaniel Jellison (1750–1804)
Esther( Jellison) Scribner (1752–1830)
Job Jellison (1754–1814)
Tabitha (Jellison) Hall (1757– )
It is thought that Job, like so many other men in Maine during the 1700's, was either a logger or a farmer, or both. No specific records on this have been found. He doesn't appear in the first US Census in 1790 although his eldest son Samuel does, so it is thought Job either died that year or earlier. No death or burial records have been found.
