Neilma Baillieu Myer was born in 1922 in San Francisco, California, United States. She was the daughter of Sidney Baevski and Merlyn Baillieu. and is a sister of Kenneth Myer, Sidney “Bails” Myer and Marigold Southey.

At 18 Neilma Myer married Vallejo Gantner, an apparel manufacturer from San Francisco on 8 August 1941 at St John's Church, Toorak. They divorced in In July 1949. ^[1]

Neilma Gantner was an Australian philanthropist and author who wrote as Neilma Sidney.^[2]

Neilma Baillieu Gantner passed away in 2015 at Bermagui in New South Wales, Australia. And she is buried in the Sorrento Cemetery, Sorrento, Victoria, Australia.
