Samuel French was the twelfth child of Deacon William French and his wife Elizabeth Barron.[1][2] The family resided in Billerica, Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts.[3][4]
Samuel's wife was the daughter of Samuel Barron and Mary (Stearns) Barron of Chelmsford, Massachusetts. She was born July 14, 1722. They were married before Samuel Ruggles in Billerica on July 7, 1743.[5][6][7]
