He was the son of Dominick Persse and Catherine Henderson, was born about 1823. Year of birth inferred from age at death.

DEATHS.
PERSSE—December 11, at Ramelton, Co. Donegal, Merrick S. Persse, late of Halifax, N.S. son of the late Dominick Persse, Esq., aged 46 years. [2]

He was buried at Tullyaughnish Graveyard, Ramelton, County Donegal, Ireland.[3]
