Biography

Sarah Leah Gose was born in February 1870 in Kentucky, United States. where her parents resided. She was the daughter of George Gose and Armilda Frisby. She was the second of eleven children born to Frank and Armilda. The children were:

In the 1910 census Leah (age 40) was the wife of S H Cox in Laredo, Grundy, Missouri, United States.^[5]

In the 1920 census Sarah (age 49) was the wife of Samuel H Cox in Laredo, Grundy, Missouri, United States.^[6]

Sam passed away in 1927 and was buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.^[7]

In the 1930 census Sarah (age 60) was the widowed head of household in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri, United States.^[8]

A reception was held in her honor on Tuesday January 3, 1933 and hosted by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. S.J. Standart. A newspaper clipping appeared in the Kansas City Star on Sunday, Jan 8, 1933.^[9] She passed away later in 1933 and was buried beside husband Sam at Mount Moriah Cemetery.^[10]
