Biography
The daugbhter of Jasper Hollis and Ruth (Springer) Holis, Sarah Hollis was born in Wayne County, Tennessee[citation needed] in 1856, residing with her family in the 12th Civil District.[1] In 1870, Sarah and her family were enumerated in Civil District 11.[2]
Sarah married John L. Gallaher (1851-1933), the son of Joseph Gillespie Gallaher and Rhoda Ann Lay, marrying in Wayne County, Tennessee on January 11, 1872[3] having thirteen known children together and making their home in Civil District 12, which was a part of Grainger County in 1880.[4] By 1900, District 12 was again enumerated in Wayne County.[5] By 1910, Sarah and her family lived in Wayne County's Civil District 8, farming.[6][7][8]
Sarah Gallaher passed away at the age of 78 and is buried at Gallaher Cemetery in Shawnette, Tennessee.[9]
