Biography
When Nancy was widowed the first time, she was only 34 years old and had five children and was expecting another one in less than three months. Her husband Benjamin Davis (1796-1852) was some twenty two years her senior. About five years after his death she married James C. Rayle (1831-1859) and they had a daughter Eliza in 1858. In 1859 James Rayle died leaving her alone again with seven children. She didn't marry again until May 11, 1872 when she, at age 53, married Joseph Alexander Talley (1849-1923), age 23, a neighbor whom she had known his entire life. They remained married until her death in 1880.
