Sir George Sidney Herbert, Baronet, was an English businessman and a member of the Royal Household of the United Kingdom.
He was born in 1886 in Middlesex, England (United Kingdom). [1] He studied at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxfordshire, England.
He served in the First World War as a colonel.
He was Gentleman Usher to King George V from 1928 to 1936 and to King Edward VIII in 1936. He was Aide-de-Camp to King George VI from 1936.
He was the director of the Wilton Royal Carpet Factory, Wiltshire, England. He lived at Knoyle House (now demolished), East Knoyle, near Shaftesbury, Wiltshire.
He died of a heart attack in Bath, Somerset, England, in 1942. [2] He was unmarried.
