She was the daughter of John Pettigrew and Mary Moore. Margaret died in a house fire along with her mother and four siblings in 1846.[1] The neighbors, James Anderson and his wife, were arrested and charged with murdering the Pettigrew family.[2] James Anderson was found guilty and his wife was found not guilty.[2]
