Biography

Angus Sr. (Rankin) was first married to Margaret Beaton, daughter of Donald Beaton, of Port Ban. Their son Reverend Peter is now Parish Priest of Creignish.^[1]

Angus Rankin (40) is on the 1881 census with wife Margaret (28) and their children; Peter (6), Ronald (4), Mary (2) and Jessie (6 mos).^[2]

Angus Rankin (79) is on the 1921 census with wife Sarah (63) and son Michael (38) with his wife Agatha (28) and children; Angus Joseph (1) and Mary Florence (1 month). There is also a sister of Michael here Mary Bell Rankin (32).^[3]

Angus Rankin of Sight Point passed on 6 Jan 1924 due to paralysis (there was no doctor in attendance).^[4] His parents are listed as Duncan Rankin of Scotland and Mary Cameron. A son Rev. Peter Rankin stationed in Creignish made the return.
