Josh Rovero served in the US Navy from February 1973 until August 1994, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He served on ships in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and on shore duty in numerous locations in the United States, Guam and Sicily.
Significant assignments included Officer in Charge, Naval Oceanography Command Detachment , SIgonella, SIcily; Commander (joint service) of the Defense Mapping Agency Combat Support Office, Norfolk VA; Commanding Officer of Oceanographic Unit Two; and Oceanography Lecturer and Researcher at the Naval Postgraduate School.
He worked at Ocean Surveys, Inc. of Old Saybrook, Connecticut from September 1994 to August 1996. He then worked at Sonalysts, Inc., of Waterford, Connecticut from August 1996 through December 2019.
Josh was awarded the Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences degree from the College of Engineering, University of Michigan, in April, 1977. He was awarded the Master of Science in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in September 1984.
