Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out. ANY Wiki Genealogist can edit "Open" profiles (over 200 years old = open). There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: brickwall
Sources are very important, so please be sure to include the sources used, on each profile you add.
It is a good idea to enter a few of your ancestors manually, to get used to how WikiTree works. Then, you could upload a small portion of your tree, with a gedcom, to see how that works. There is always editing needed after a Gedcom import, so fewer profiles makes the task easier.
We live in the central part of Michigan near the town of Fenton. I was first named Dibbleville but was bought by William M. Fenton and Robert Leroy and became Fenton. A rather large lake known as Long Lake was renamed Lake Fenton. I am a book dealer and have a book on the history of that area. I would love to hear from you. I am trying to become a member of WiktTree and would like your endorsement. Also, my ancestors came from Middlesex County,Mass.
Thanks

Many (grandparents through 2nd great grandfather) of my ancestors lived in Boston also, and I still live in the area today. Thanks for helping out on WikiTree
Hi Les! I am a brand-new member of WikiTree! I figured I'd be "proactive" and find members with similar interests and I'm into New England (Boston area) history also. My PELTONs were from Dorchester/Boston.
I'm MIKE Bancroft, retired, just registered with WikiTree and volunteered to help
We (my 1st cousin in UK ALAN and myself) have recently been researching Bancroft family together in UK, we have discovered distant cousins in Canada now seeking USA Bancrofts and Quakers
ALAN Bancroft lives in Battle where the (battle of Hastings fought in 1066)I live in Cornwall UK where Jane Bonyton b.1601 family came from, she married JOHN Bancroft c1620 in DERBYSHIRE UK. They had 3 children before setting sail for Boston in 1632. Descendents of JOHN (b.1596) were Rev Aaron Bancroft b.1755, a minuteman at Battle of Lexington Green, his son GEORGE BANCROFT b.1800 even more influential
whilst writing I have been invited to add my tree and note you could confirm me as WikiTree Genealogist

My name is Brian Burch. I am a librarian in the Akron, Ohio area, and I have a lot of descendants that came from/lived in Massachusetts. As I was looking through WikiTree, I was surprised to see that a lot of them were not listed yet. Many in my line came from Haverhill, Scituate, Brockton, and Newbury. I have been researching with my grandparents, as well as in the library system that I work for, where we have an incredible genealogy section. I have a lot of original family pictures from my grandmother's collection that I can add to some of the more recent relatives to give dimension to their lives. I love the way Wikitree is set up with the honor code, and thought of one accurate tree connecting everyone! Thank you for your consideration. Brian Burch, Akron OH
Hello Les, my name is Richard Robinson and I am new to Wikitree. I've completed the confirmation process and was wondering how long it will be before I can start adding data. My mother has worked on our family genealogy for about 30 years. She is in her nineties now and suffering from senile dementia. Her work on genealogy was detailed and meticulous. She was deemed somewhat of an expert by some. She was involved with the Daughters of the American Revolution here in Michigan and responsible for validating genealogies for people. It is my desire to see that all those years of hard work be not in vain and that the vast amount of information she compiled be available to everyone. I know it would be her wish.
I suggest you post your question on the G2G Forum. You should get answeres :)
Guy
