Philip, son of Isaac Morss & Jane, was born on 24 May 1755 in Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts, United States.[1][2][3]

Philip's military service in the American Revolution included service in 1) Capt Cogswell, Cols Gerrish and Loammi Baldwin Baldwin-6646, Massachusetts Regt and 2) Capt Stephen Dearborn, Cols Stickney, Nichols, New Hampshire Regt.[4] It is noted that he was at Haverhill, July 30, 1777.[5]
