Biography

Bessie "Pessie" (Hirsch) Gordon was born on Nov 26 1885, likely in Medzhybizh, Russia (Ukraine) (location assumption from birth of Brother Ben), to Esther (Mazer) Hirsch (abt.1869-) and Jacob Hirsch (abt.1865-).

On 13 Aug 1915, at age 24 she married Bernard "Bannie" Gordon (abt.1892-) (23). At the time they lived at 232 Western Ave. in Cambridge MA and they were both working as clerks.

Together they had 3 children, Ida T Gordon (abt.1917-), Mary (Gordon) McCrensky (1919-2006), Frederick Gordon (abt.1922-).

Pessie lived in Leominster, MA (1920) and spoke Yiddish.

Pessie's brother Ben had a store at 9 Central Square, Cambridge from around 1911 to 1916 where Pessie worked for a time.

Pessie died 25 Nov 1923 in Cambridge, MA and is buried in Independent Golden Crown Cemetery Woburn, MA
