Richard was born around 1806.
Richard marries Jane Snell on 24th Feb 1829 at St. Melorus, Mylor, near Falmouth. The witnesses were John Snell, Henry Snell and ‘Mary Rickard’.[1]
He and his wife Jane had six children: Mary Ann, Richard, Henry, Jane, Sibella and James.[2] Mary Anne[3] and Henry[4] were both baptised in Mylor, near Falmouth. Richard Jnr. does not appear on any census so it seems likely he died young.
At some point the family moves to Trewoon farm, just east of the village of Treverva, where in 1841 Richard is working as an agricultural labourer, living with his wife Jane (30) and children Mary Ann (11), Henry (5) and Elizabeth (1).[5]
The family then moves to nearby Falmouth and at 46 Richard is living in Well Lane, Falmouth, with his wife Jane (46) and two children Mary Ann (20) and Henry (15). Richard is listed as an 'Annuitant'.[6] At the time their children Jane (11), Sibella (9) and James (2) are listed as living in a separate house on Well Lane.[7]
Richard died in January 1859.
