This is the profile for Mary Ware who married William White of Newbury/Haverhill about 1639/40.
Based on Mary's estimated date of marriage (1639/40), Mary was probably born sometime in 1616-1622, with about 1618 being a best-guess estimate.
Mary's place of birth and parentage have not been definitively determined. Based on evidence (discussed below) establishing that Mary and her (non-emigrating) parents were known to Rev. Edward Norris, who came from Gloucestershire, it is reasonably likely that Mary was born there. Since Rev. Norris was based in Tetbury and Horsely, Gloucestershire,[1] it is possible that Mary was the Mary Weir, daughter of Jasper Weir, who was baptized in Tetbury on 15 October 1618.[2]
Mary came to New England on the same ship as her future husband, William White, in 1639.[3] It is reasonably likely that they emigrated on the same ship as Rev. Edward Norris, who also emigrated to New England in 1639[1][4] and who certified on behalf of Mary and William White in 1639 or 1640 that their parents consented to their marriage.[3]
Mary Ware married William White somewhere in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in late 1639 or early 1640.[3]
Mary and William had only one known child:
Mary died in Haverhill on 22 February 1681/2.[3][5][6]
In the Great Migration Directory, p 359 as Ware, Mary: Unknown; 1640; Newbury [WP 4:168]. (She married William White of Newbury [GM 2:7:346-48].)
