Nathaniel Charles Jacob Rothschild was born in Cambridge, England on 29 April 1936, the eldest son of Victor Rothschild and his first wife Barbara Hutchinson. He was an investment banker and member of the Rothschild banking family in England who succeeded his father as 4th Baron Rothschild on 20 March 1990. He was a member of the House of Lords as a hereditary peer from 30 April 1991 to 11 November 1999. He died on 26 February 2022.
