Biography

Rachel Hunter was born on November 30, 1774 in Rockingham, North Carolina to Lt Col Jame Hunter and Mary (Montgomery) Hunter.

She married Nicholas Dalton in 24 Jun 1793 in Rockinham, North Carolina [1] She and Nicholas had 14 children.

At the age of 65, Rachel was a widow and living in Rockingham, North Carolina. According to the 1840 Census her household consisted of:
8 Male Slaves under the age of 10 4 Male Slaves age 10-23
2 Male Slaves age 36-54
2 Male Slaves age 55-99
8 Female Slaves under the age of 10
