John Rutledge Jr. is Notable.

John Rutledge, son of John Rutledge and Elizabeth Grimke, was born about 1766. He died in 1819 and is buried in Saint Peter's Episcopal Churchyard in Philadelphia.[1]

US Congressman. He was the son of John Rutledge, United States Constitution Signer and United States Supreme Court Justice, and nephew of Declaration of Independence Signer Edward Rutledge. He was elected to represent his native South Carolina in the United States House of Representatives, serving first as an At-Large Delegate from 1797 to 1799, then representing the 1st District from 1799 to 1803. During the War of 1812 he commanded the 28th Regiment of South Carolina Militia, and after the war became a Brigadier General of the state's militia forces.
