William Musgrave MP (1518–1597) of Hayton Castle was an English politician, Member of Parliament for the Cumberland Division. William Musgrave was born at Hayton Castle, son of Thomas Musgrave and his wife Elizabeth Dacre. He married Isabel, daughter and co-heiress to the estate of James Martindale of Newton, Bromfield Cumberland.
Their marriage produced at least seven children, Thomas Musgrave of Brakenburgh (died two months before his father); Sir Edward Musgrave MP, Anne, Eleanor, John, Jane and Leonard.
William Musgrave wrote his Will in 1595, in which he mentions his son Leonard Musgrave, son Edward Musgrave, Isabel Musgrave daughter of his son Thomas, son in law Lowther, son in law William Musgrave, brother Thomas Musgrave, brother Leonard Musgrave, and Humphrey Musgrave (in school) son of his brother.[1] He died on 15 August 1597.
