Biography

Charlotte Cadogan was born in 1781, the daughter of Charles Sloane Cadogan , later first Earl Cadogan, and his wife Mary Churchill. In 1803 she married Henry Wellesley, first Baron Cowley.^[1] She then eloped with Henry William Paget, first Marquess of Anglesey, whom she married in 1810 after a duel, a trial for criminal conversation, and a divorce.^[2] She died in 1853.^[3]
