William[1] was born in 1844 and baptised on the 21 Apr 1844 at Northrepps, the the child of Patrick Law and Frances Arbuthnot. [2]

In 1871 he was a Lieutenant at the Depot Companies 2nd Batt 21st Regiment Street Mary Barracks in Chatham [4]
He married Fanny Holland in Kensington in 1877[5]
The 1881 census records him at the residence of his mother in law in Kensington, London. He is recorded as a Dramatic Author, his wife Fanny is listed as a Musical Professor, their son Hamilton was a year old[6]
The 1891 census records the family living in Paddington, William, a Dramatic Author, Fanny, a Vocalist and Actress and Hamilton aged 11 years.[7]
In 1901, still living in Paddington William is recorded as a Dramatic Author, Fanny, an Actress, Hamilton is 21 years of age and Fanny's sister Muriel is also present within the household[8]
The 1911 census records them living in Poole, Dorset, William, a Dramatic Author, Fanny and her sister are also listed, William and Fanny by this time have been married for 33 years[9]
William died on the 2nd April 1913 at The Homestead, Parkstone, Dorset.[10][11]
