Biography

Danford was born in 1770. He was the son of Aaron Abbott and Mary Ayers.

He died in 1854. At the time of his death, he was married to a woman named Mary (birth surname unknown) and had six children

”I Danford Abbott of Warren in the County of Herkimer and state of New York considering the uncertainty of life & being of sound & disposing mind & memory Blessed be Almighty God for the same do make publish & declare this my last will & testament in manner & form following
First I give devise & bequeath unto my son James C. Abbott all – certain home farm situate in said town on which I now reside to have & to hold the same to him his heirs & assigns forever & I charge upon & upon the farm devised to him the comfortable support & maintenance of his mother during her natural life which provision I make for her in lieu of dower & I also charge upon my said son the payment of the same of two hundred dollars to my daughter Mary Starr which I give & bequeath unto her & payable one year after my decease. I also give & bequeath unto my said son all my farming tools that I may have at the time of my decease.
”Secondly I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary the use of all my household furniture during her life & at her death what may be left & remaining I give to my son James C. Abbott.
”Thirdly All the rest & residue of my personal estate I give & bequeath unto my sons Amasa Abbott & John Abbott & my daughters Hannah Bloomfield & Unis (Eunice) Huntington & Mary Starr equally to be divided between them share & share alike. For the bequest of farming tools to my son James C. Abbott I mean to include my one horse waggon sleigh cutter caldron kettles pot -?- kettle & sap buckets which he is to have.
”Lastly I hereby appoint my sons Amasa Abbott & James C. Abbott executors of this my last will & testament witness my hand & seal this 25th day of January 1854. – Danford Abbott
