Thomas was a son of Samuel Adderton and Mary Unknown. He was born 28 May 1736 at Pembroke, Massachusetts.[1] Hingham's birth records place his birth there on this date with the same parents listed.[2]
He married Chloe Hanks on 13 Dec 1755 in Kingston, MA.[3] They had three children over the next 8 years of whose profiles are attached to this one.
He enlisted in the Duxbury, Massachusetts, militia from 1776 to 1779, and in the Continental Army in 1780 as Thomas Adderton.[4]
