Richard was born in 1862. His parents were Peter Aindow and Harriett Townley. [1] He was christened on 28 September 1862 at St John The Evangelist, Miles Platting, Manchester[2]
In 1871 he lived at 154 Cobden Street, Manchester with his parents and Younger brothers, George (4) and Peter (9 months). His father was a labourer. [3]
Richard married Harriet Murphy in 1880 in West Derby, Lancashire[4] They had seven children, but sadly their first two died in infancy,
In 1881 he was working as a Tanner's Labourer, and living with his wife, Harriett at Sutton Place, Litherland, West Derby, Lancashire. [5]

Harriet (1). Richard was working as a General Labourer.[6]
In 1901 they were living at West Derby, Lancashire, Richard was a Tanner. They now had five children, all daughters, Ellen (16) working as a Tobacco Packer, and Elizabeth (13), Harriet (11), Mary (8} and Mabel (5).[7]
Richard was still a Tanner in 1911. He lived with his wife, Harriet at 20 Stour Street, Kirkdale, West Derby. Their daughters Mary and Mable were still living with them. [8]
When the 1939 register was recorded Richard is found living at 111 Medlock Street, Liverpool, with his daughter Harriet and her husband William Farmly. William R. Farmley (25) is also living with them and his presumably William and Harriets son. [9]
