Biography

Ada was born in 1878. She was baptised Ada Alexander Ellick 21 Sep 1895 at St Paul's, daughter of James Alexander Ellick and his wife Catherine.

On the 8 Jun 1893, 15 years old and unmarried, Ada gave birth to daughter Lydia Rosina. No surname was given for the baptism but the mother's name was given as Adelaide Alexander. Ada hadn't yet been baptised and may not have been aware of her surname in 1893.

15 Jul 1901- Bachelor 24 year old Labourer William Albert Yon of Half Tree Hollow married Spinster 27 year old Laundress Ada Adelaide Alexander Ellick of Southerns at St Paul's. Witnesses to the wedding were Alexander Yon and Leah Alexander.

3 Mar 1827 - Adelaide Yon, Widow aged 65 years, passed away at Gwelo. Rhodesia. Informant for the death was daughter, Lydia Clingham.
